Pathology department has been responsible for the teaching of undergraduates, junior college student, foreign students,students for advanced pathological studies class entrusted by National Health Commission andpostgraduates at all levels in our university, and has carried out high-level scientific research. Pathologydepartment also undertakes the clinicopathology assignment of Tianjin Medical University General Hospital, and the teaching work of Tianjin standardized pathological training base. Pathology department is integrated bridging discipline combining clinical medicine, teaching and scientific research, and is emphasis subject of national “211 project”. Since the 10th Five-Year Plan, it has presided over 15 national scientific research projects (including 2 national key projects), 21 provincial and municipal projects, and won 21 provincial and ministerial awards (including 1 first prize for scientific and technological progress of ChineseAnti Cancer Association, 2 first prize for scientific and technological progress of Tianjin Municipality, 1 second prize for natural science of EducationMinistry and the first prize of teaching achievement of Tianjin). Until now, 116 SCI papers were published. Editor-in-chief of 15 textbooks, monographs, many editors, training 139 master's students, 49 doctoral students.
