The Department of Imaging Anatomy and Medical Imaging Diagnosis are dedicated to host the teaching and research activities related to medical imaging, including radiology, normal and abnormal imaging manifestations, development and improvement of medical imaging technology, etc.

The Department provides courses related to medical imaging, especially imaging diagnosis, for students of various levels and majors such as undergraduates, graduates and adult further education. The courses covers fundamental knowledge in medical imaging, such as Introduction to Medical Imaging, Imaging Anatomy, Medical Imaging Diagnostics, Interventional Radiology, Ultrasound Diagnostics, Nuclear Medicine and Medical Imaging Technology, as well as latest advancements of medical imaging field, such as Molecular Imaging, Advanced Technology in Medical Imaging, Medical Functional Imaging, and the seminars for freshmen of Exploring the Human Brain Function Using Functional Brain Imaging.

Currently, there are 6 full-time faculty members in the Department, including 2 professors, 2 associate professors and 2 lecturers. In recent years, the Department has obtained more than 10 teaching and research grants from the university, Tianjin Municipal Government and national research foundations. The editor-in-chief of the first to the fourth edition of Medical Imaging Diagnostics and the first edition of Human Imaging Anatomy were all from professors of the Department. The teachers in the Department have won several Teaching Excellence Awards and Outstanding Teaching Awards for Young Teachers in Tianjin Medical University. One teacher won the First Prize in the Tianjin Teaching Contest of Young Teachers.
