Medical Neural Engineering is an international level research direction of the discipline: The academic leader has been engaged in the mechanism of neuropsychiatric disease over 10 years in the first-class neural science laboratory in the United States, and published influential papers in top journals (Science) of the field; the research team is composed mostly of young-middle aged teachers with medical background. It has several first-class experimental instruments such as two-photon microscope, implantable multi-channel data acquisition system in free moving animals and optogenetics, etc.
