Yun Zhugraduated from the Division of Community Health, Memorial University of Newfoundland with a doctoral degree in May 2018 andhave been working as a post-doctorate at the University of Montreal Hospital Research Centrefor nearly two years. Yun Zhu is the receipt of a Doctoral Thesis Research Grant from Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Applied Health Research (NLCAHR) and a Postdoctoral Research Grant from Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQS). She has also been involved in a colorectal cancer team project funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research Team Grant. During the past years, Yun Zhu has published 14 papers in peer-reviewed journals with a cumulative impact factor of 47.3.

Research direction

Yun Zhu’sresearch interestslie in cancer epidemiology and molecularepidemiology, particularly the assessment of environmental and genetic components of colorectal cancer. Specifically, Yun’s research investigated how processed meat, dietary patterns, occupational physical activity, exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals, and vitamin D pathway gene polymorphisms impact on colorectal cancer risk and survival.
