The National Demonstration Center for Basic Medicine Education was formerly called the Basic Medical Experimental Teaching Center , and was established in 1990s.In 2012, it was officially approved as National Demonstration Center for Basic Medicine Education. The National Demonstration Center for Basic Medicine Education consists of five laboratories, including the laboratory of molecular medicine, human anatomy laboratory, cell biology laboratory, morphology laboratory and the laboratory of functional studies .The center offers scientific research methodologies courses in medical experimental zoology, morphological experimental technology, tissue culture technology, molecular biology experimental technology and bioinformatics for undergraduates and postgraduates. And the center is responsible for the experimental curriculum for undergraduates and foreign students of 26 specialties such as clinical medicine, basic medicine, stomatology , medical imaging, preventive medicine, medical laboratory, nursing, anesthesiology, biomedical engineering, bioinformatics, pharmacy, medical law, ophthalmology, sports rehabilitation and health, rehabilitation therapy, public health management, medical psychology, medical English and media ,and etc.

The center always adheres to the concept of student-based in experimental teaching and attaches importance to the cultivation of students' practical ability.It is committed to creating a new experimental teaching system that is systematic, multi-level, multi-module, research-based and open with the core of cultivating ability and in line with the orientation of research-based teaching, expanding and enriching the space and content of experimental teaching It also actively guides and encourages students to enter the innovative practice platform of college to participate in scientific and technological innovation activities, and to improve the ability of knowledge transformation and application and practical ability.
